I have had the SS for about two years now... Haven't upgraded a thing (but I have ridden it up many grades!)... We had been planning on attending the Single Speed World Championships in central PA... I have no idea what it is like there... The rides I have done in eastern PA have been rocky climbing killers... I decided that I should invest in some front suspension and a little lower gearing... I haven't gotten to the lower gearing... but after 2 nights of really bad bodging I have an 85mm Marzocchi MX comp on the front end. When I put the reccomended pressure in each fork leg I was a little surprised that the fork was not very plush... We went for a very quick ride last night and I quickly realized the fork need break in and also that this fork is actually plush by not squishy! Stiff in the corners... surpisingly very plush running over stuff... I took off like a rocket (with Carla following closely behind)... I am considering keeping the 2:1 ratio for a while. I was able to keep a higher speed coming up into the hills and I think that extra momentum is enough. When we were unloading in the lot some guy rode over on a beater and handed me a can of Budweiser... I have no idea of who he was but I thanked him and he rode off... We cracked the can of beer at the end of the ride and toasted the new modern conviencnce... I guess the Bud was my box of cigars... That beer sure tasted great

Nice. I had a guy hand me a hit of acid like that at my first Grateful Dead show. I must have looked like I needed it!
I'm also thinking about another fork for my SS. I'd go rigid, but I think it might shake my bad shoulder apart. The Sid on there needs some love. I'm going to try and make it a little better by adjusting it, but I have a feeling it maybe on it's last (fork) legs. I might get a Fox or Marz for the Epic and put the Black Elite Air 80 mm on the SS. Might be a good match.
