I had one of those rare weekends when I got to ride both days. Which is nice.
Saturday; checked the weather reports for the Ardennes and they didn't look too bad so I headed back
to La Roche. The problem with the weather report was that it only gave current weather conditions,
and no mention of the large dump of snow earlier in the week. At lower levels it wasn't too bad, but
at higher points it was pretty deep. How deep?

I took had some fantastic singletrack - I shall enjoy that later in the year when the warmer weather
descends upon us. Hopefully. Anyway, loads of hiking, and the ~15km route took me over 2 hours. I
got changed and retired to a nice brasserie for an omlette and one of those specialist beers that
the guys on here are always going on about. Very nice - decided to buy a load and I'm currently
drinking this as I type: http://ratebeer.com/ShowBeer.asp?BeerID=53
Today, the weather was nice so I decided to head out in to the local forests for a nice relaxed
stroll and some exploring. Amazingly, I found a steep valley with some cracking singletrack. Happy
days - I can now go out for a spin on some challenging terrain without having to travel two hours.
Admittedly, it's hardly mountain status, but it's still fun for a couple of hours.
