RR: Stupid Weather Forecast

The weather has been miserable in the Delaware Valley. Rain, rain, and
more rain. The forecast for the weekend was rain heavy at times. Wel
Saturday came, it was grey, but no rain. What would Sunday bring? I
woke this morning to grey skies once again, but the ground was dry. Do
I attempt to make it to the JAR ride? Seven and I'm on my way south to
Brandywine State Park in Delaware. Although there were a few spits as I
passed the Philly airport, it ended as fast as it came. Once at the
parking lot, the skies followed but it was dry. The six of us that
showed up head out on the trail. I like Brandywine a lot, but it I
haven't rode here since new years day (you can view that video in my
archive: http://www.schnauzers.ws/Vidarchive.html). Even though it
rained pretty hard the last few days, the trails were realtively dry. I
can't resist a good farmland singletrack and this place has it! Just a
tire wide and through the cornfields over rolling hills. Don't get me
wrong, there's plenty of sweet wooded singletrack and a little rock
garden to keep you thinking. I did notice a few things today. I made
every climb. I didn't make any on New Years Day. I am now in what I
call the tween group. I'm not fast enough to hang in the front and I'm
too fast to hang in the back. So now I find myself riding alone after
falling back from the front. I'll keep pushing though.

So, finally a rain-free fun day!

I'm at that point, too, on my group rides with the Sistahs. When I ride
with my friends, though, I still get smoked!
