Rucksack Recommendations please!

I've recently got a Karrimor Leopard 55 + 15 from Mountain Warehouse
for £70. I think it's last years model. Features are:
Size adjustable coolmesh back system
Haul loop
Double Base (not Bass ;-)
Pull-out rain cover
2 compartments
2 Progress fixed side pockets
2 pockets in lid with one key clip
Front map pocket
Expanding lid (giving the +15)
under-lid compression strap
Daisy Chains
Elastic pole carrier
Base load straps
Chest strap
It's also only 21 inches high which means it can go as cabin baggage
on an aeroplane.
Oh and it's meant to fit my hips and breasts!
Well it fits me very well, but I'm off to the Pyrenees on Sunday in
drag, apparently.
But it weighs about 2.3 kg

Go to a well supplied shop[s] (Keswick and Ambleside suggested if you're
going to the Lakes anyway) and try on what they have that ticks your
boxes with your projected load inside it. Then get the most
comfortable. No point trying to assess comfort without a load
reflecting what you'll carry.

The fact that any given reviewer like a Brand X Model Y isn't
necessarily a help to you: their back could well be a different
length/curvature, shoulders broader or narrower and so on, and all of
those things affect the comfort.

Asking here and looking at reviews /is/ useful, as you might end up with
an expanded shortlist of things to track down and try, but trying is the
best way to get the one that works best for you.
