  1. Someone asked recently about running and weight training and I thought
I'd share how I blend the two.

Since I have started running fairly seriously I no longer get to the
gym that often. However, I still want to be able to do strength
training. For me the solution is the strength train after my run. At
the park I go to there are many places to do chins, situps, and of
course pushups. I can work my tibulus anterior in several good spots
as well. What I was having some trouble with was doing good
    deadlifts.

Today I had the bright, though surely not new, idea to try to do
cleans with a large rock. It took me a while to find an appropriate
rock. It has to be large enough to be a challenge but small enough so
that I would not overshoot and knock myself unconscious. I found a
really good one with an awesome texture for gripping. I did deadlifts
as well as some clean and jerk. It was fun and worked a lot better
than I would have expected. It helps that the shoreline has 1000s
upon 1000s of large rocks in every shape and size.

Are you certain that what you think are rocks that look like weights not
actually weights that look like rocks?
