Hi,

My bike is fairly new and in the excitement of getting out on it I may have been less then diligent ensuring the chain was oiled properly...I did get round to it however I have noticed some rust forming on the chain probably due to my lack of care! Can anyone give me advice on how to get ride of the rust and some maintenance tips for ensuring it stays rust free??

Thank you!

Bex

If a new chain is rusting up something is off, unless of course you're just leaving the bike on the front lawn out in the rain. Go to a bike shop, any bike shop, purchase some chain lubricant (which should cost less than 10 bucks depending on the brand), and lube it up every two weeks or after you ride in the wet.

OR, you can simply use some 3-in-1 (or, equivalent) general "Household" oil on your chain.

Exactly what on use on my Wahl clippers, and ya don't even need a bike shop for that.
