A question for the rec.bicycles.tech crowd. Can anyone describe the differences between the frame
used on the Specialized 2004 Allez Comp (UK Spec) and the S-Works E5 Frameset. The specialized web
site has the following quotes:
S-Works: "Specialized compact design, E5 AEROTEC, fully double butted, heat-treated Columbus tubing"
Allez Comp: "Specialized compact design, Columbus SLX, double butted, heat-treated"
Given that the S-Works frame is £799 and a complete Ultegra equipped Allez is only £1300. What is
the main performance advantage of the S-Works?
