I've got a Sachs 3x7 wheel that has the outermost pin broken on the shifter chain. It is a pin that is always out of the hub, so no retrieval problems, but I'm stuck in overdrive since I can't pull the shifter.
What is the best way to effect repair.
One possibility might seem to put another pin in there, if a small enought and strong enough replacement is available. If so, any suggestions on what to put through there? As it is a pin that always protrudes, I probably could used something long.
Are direct replacement pins from Sachs/SRAM available?
Or does one usually need replace the entire chain?
