plus one i cannot find

the goop saving idea is a good one.
i mention this again after the saddle, a spec minkow lost a three
rounder to a pond pine falling down the trunk in HD touring trim
leaving the seat rough sans covering one the abraded side.

I bought a new goop tube and forswore butt grease for several weeks but
after a good virgin tolulene spread from the new tube the temp fell
from 70 to 50 in 3 hours so i used the antique seat, soldiered on and
left the gooped spec in the shop for a week-several days beyond the
recommended cure.

the extra cure time results, with a new tube,in a very acceptable "new"
skin and is highly recommended.

keep dry and out of the uv

a caveat
the spec saddle is firm. firmness supports the Goop repair which on a
sft base would crack here and there.
that's not a bad repair but needs to be kept from a downpour then
ridden-Goop forced off foam from h20 squeeze out

Goop is self leveling if applied cool or cold on a warm or cool saddle
then set in a hot area for curing.
i'm in SWFLA and its hot. a good cure takes a week. what that gives on
the upper peninsula or portland???

i use a small rectangle cut from a poly water jug-1'"x 2"
remove loose material with a new razor
spread a line of fresh Goop, cap Goop with extra 1" x 2"
spread Goop line. add another line and spread. if you don't **** around
with it the stuff will self level.

the cover will wear out. razor and peel the loose goop off and reGoop

i been doin this for some time now. itsa good solid repair.
