I have been using the clippless pedal for 2 weeks now without a problem. Unfortunately I crashed my new one month old bike today. The good thing is I was not hurt but my precious bike was hurt. the edge of saddle has ripped open about 2 inches of length when i crash and it must have scratched on the road. Is the vinly seat cover repairable? has anyone used the vinyl repair kit for auto seats on the bike saddle?

    Try Shoe Goo...;)
    Mask off the area.
    Apply glue with tooth pick.
Tape over to pull the tear closed and wait 24 hours.
Remove tape and trim excess with a razor blade.

I never thought of Shoe Goo. That's a good suggestion.

I've successfully used hot glue (from a hot glue gun) and/or SuperGlue.

My goal isn't ever to make it look like new, but simply to keep the saddle from tearing more at the cut/rip.

    Good luck.

I don't think the vinyl repair will work on a gash as the tightness of the cover will cause it to split again, I'd just use some black cloth tape or duct tape.
