Schrader Tubes on a Road Bike?

So I ran into my LBS over lunch to pick up some tubes and in my hurry bought tubes with Schrader valves instead of Presta valves. My question is this: can I use them on my road bike (assuming the valves fit through the rims) or am I going to run into problems trying to run them at 100-110 psi? I'd rather not have to return them.

Schrader valves are as good as Presta valves for holding high pressure. Providing that the valve stem will fit through the rim, you can use it. Presta valve rims have valve holes that are about 8 mm smaller than Shrader valve holes. You might also want to check your pump head. Most, but not all pump heads are made to accommodate both Presta and Schrader valves. Make sure that you can inflate the tubes after you have them installed.

It can be done. But, you'll need to drill out the valve hole in the rim for the Schrader, so once it is done it will only be suitable for Schraders. IMO not worth it when all you need to to is exchange the tubes for the right ones.
