In mid October, I was booked on a flight from Chicago to London that was seriously delayed. By chance, the European Court of Justice has since then ruled that in such situations the airline must pay a considerable amount of compensation to passengers.

After we landed, I got talking to a young American cyclist, probably from the Chicago area, who was travelling with his bike, a new, blue, single-gear Dawes. His name was Mike and he intended travelling on to Amsterdam.

Because he is travelling, he may not be aware of what he can claim. If he, or anyone who knows him, contacts me, I will be happy to tell them how to go about claiming.
