Should the seat be set at a height that will allow the legs to straighten on the bottom of the pedal
stroke or should there be some flex in the knee at the bottom? Thanks.

Fred

A little flex. Some books tell you to adjust the seat height so that the leg is fully extended when
the peddle is fully down and the arch of the foot is on the pedal (instead of the ball as per normal
pedaling).

Leave a little bend in the knee or you may strain your achilles tendon.

Raise your seat in small increments and have someone ride behind you and tell you when your
hips start to rock a bit. Lower the saddle a little and you should be at a reasonably good
"starting point".
