I"ve thought about it, but have heard that while it's close, it's just not up to the same standard as the DA (stiffness, weight, etc.). I also am recovering from hip replacement and I'm now measuring for a 175 crank (if not more) on my left leg and a 170 on my right (the replacement side). Just learned that the Stronglight Fission actually has inserts that will allow me to have one side at 170 and the other at 175. I may be going that route. They're not cheap ($700+), but may be worth it in my case.sideshow_bob said:if you are running full DA, why not consider the R700 shimano's?
personally i've got a set of k-force compacts, having used R700's theres no significant performance difference. the FSA rings for the k-force seem a bit more easily sourced, though the shimano's are easier to service.

I own a 2006 Campy Chorus alloy crank and love it. I'm switching to Force next year but am keeping my Campy crank because the bottom bracket/bearings will spin forever. I was talking to the LBS mechanic and he told me the XTR cranks/BB will spin about 2 rotations but the Campy cranks are very nice and will spin much longer because of the design. No need for ceramic bearings in those suckers haha.Powerful Pete said:I have seen quite a few bikes here mounted full DA with Campagnolo Record UT cranks.
Consider that with a KMC gold chain and you are set.
