Greetings from a newbie!
My wife and I are looking at new bikes. Last night, she test rode a Trek Navigator 300 and really liked it. She doesn't plan to do much road riding. Will putz around the neighborhood, perhaps some paved bike trails, and pull our granddaughter in a trailer.

Is that bike overkill for the riding she will be doing? Would the upgrades allow her to pull the trailer with less effort than the Navigator 100 or 200?

Thanks for any help.

I couldn't get to the trek website to check it out. but if she likes the bike, the bike shop has her size and it will accomplish what you want and the price tag doesn't make a big difference, I'm sure it will do fine. choosing an around the neighborhood bike is far easier than something for a specific athletic porpose. like mountian bikeing and road racing. good luck!

Thanks for your reply.

We opted for the 300 model. She could really tell a difference in shifting over the 200, and liked it much better.
