Well if he keeps riding his bike to work, he should at least lose some weight.

A poorly fitting helmet, low visability clothing. And if he's going to work where's his panniers or backpack with his gear. And if he's coing home again in the evening, where are the lights.
This kind of contrived photo shoot gives cycling a bad name. If I looked like that on the road I would WANT people to try and run me over

Don't be silly. If the world does (against expectations?) turn out to be sane, and cycling becomes mainstream transport, most cyclists will look like that and good on 'em, at least they will be on the roads.
