I finally finished my IndyFab bike today, and took her out for a quick shakedown ride around the
'Ponderosa'. Of course I was limited, as I was helmetless (on the way), and not clipped in, but
could still get a good feel of things to come.

First thoughts:

The bike felt very balanced (almost as if it was made for me :)). In fact, even with a four pound
fork up front, getting the front wheel up was effortless. As for the fork, yeah, it's a Rock Slop,
but was still smooth, but needs a stiffer spring (on the way). The disc brakes were great. Had a
totally different feel from what I was used to, but noticed right away the improved modulation over
rim brakes. Since the pads are not even close to being broken in, I could not come close to
realizing their stopping potential.

Bottom line:

As soon as I threw a leg over, and started pedaling, it just felt right. Better than the Yeti
ARC I fell in love with a few years back. There's nothing like the feel of a custom steel bike.
I'm happy. :)
