    1 cake dry yeast
    1/4 cup lukewarm water
    2/2 cup mashed potatoes
    3/4 cup shortening 1 1/2 tsp salt
    4/4 cup sugar 1 cup milk 1 egg 4 to 4 1/2 cups flour

    Add yeast to water. Combine potatoes, shortening, salt, sugar and milk; add yeast mixture and egg.
    Stir in 2 cups flour; add remaining flour. Knead on bread board 8 to 10 minutes. Let rise till
    double in size in a warm place. Punch down; shape into balls. Let rise 10 minutes more; shape into
