Is it possible to get from Faringdon Street onto the Holborn Viaduct
as the route implies ? (Or is this purely a Mornington Crescent
strategy ?)

Hope to make the ride with the wheels Sheldon taught me to make.

I think you'd need a "Sheldon Invention" to make that turn. The
viaduct is up in the air over Farringdon Street. The way to get up
there is to go up St. Bride Street, Shoe Lane and St. Andrews Street
or Charterhouse Street.

Ooh. I have to cross London from Paddington to Liverpool Street
(en route to Amsterdam) that day. Wonder if I can travel with
my folding bike, and join the ride?

Anyone know whether Hook-of-Holland to Amsterdam with a (folding)
bike onna train works? I recollect it as a busy/crowded route,
and my return journey will be at peak time (Friday evening).

Basic rule for Dutch trains that I can see, is bikes are forbidden on
peak services, cost 6 euros I think on off peak services and you just
hang with them in the train doorway - last week the conductors were
very encouraging for us to stay with the bike in the stations, having
gone to sit down during the ride.

That said, folding bikes can be carried any time folded for free, so
you'll have no problems, they're also very commonly seen.

Just realised that the Sunday afternoon also coincides with the "Torch
Relay" going through London.

They should be out of Oxford Street (12:00 - 12:20) by the time the
memorial ride gets there, but then, having done Westminster and the
South Bank, they are back at Somerset House at 14.15, St.Pauls at
14.30 to cross over London Bridge by 15.00.
