I recently bought my 1st road bike. Its a used 09' Fuji Newest 4.0 ( http://2009.fujibikes.com/Road/Sport/Newest40.aspx) with all stock components. I looking to upgrade my F/R brakes to Shimano 105s. My biggest question will these work with my stock parts. How difficult is this to do by myself? Can anyone point me in the right direction of links to good tutorials?

Why do you want to change your brakes?

Your bike is equiped with dual pivot brakes. You may be able to increase your stopping power by just replacing your stock pads with Shimano BR7900 pads. FWIW I have a bike with Tektro 520 brakes which I did this to and the stopping power is equal to my other bike which has 105 calipers and pads.

You Tube is also a good place for instructional videos

Hi mkdonios, also have a look at Swiss Stop Brake Pads ... http://www.competitivecyclist.com/review-brakes/swiss-stop-brake-pads_71.html :)

The feedback or play from the brakes are pretty "mushy". Someone mentioned it might be something with my cables. So, i figured if I'm going to run new cable might as well do the whole shabang. Thanks for the input! Ill check out the link
