I have a Shimano 200 GS rear derailer on my parts bike and was going to swap it for the junk sram parts on my wal-mart special. Same goes for the wheels off the old Schwinn. Gotta get new bearings for the front first tho ;)

Anyway is this worth it? I HAVE to change from those POS grip shifters, I frickin hate those things. I have a set of rapid fire shifters that will be swapped on, thankfully. I am going to tear it down tonight and do as much of the work as I can so I can ride tommorow... oh wait I have tomorrow off... so I have 2 nights to do all of it. Is it doable?

    Thanks!!

Well I called the LBS and they informed me, should've done that in the first place I guess.

I still need to know if I should bother changing the derailers for the shimano's. The rear one I suspect, yes, but I don't know about the front.

Worth is relative. Beyond that,"this shop does not work on mart bikes". Sorry, company policy.
