I really did not know where to post this but I figured the Techies out there might know. I recently went through all my old parts and found a Shimano RX-100 brake that has never been mounted and has the word PROTO TYPE engraved in the arm opposite the usual shimano jargon on the the other ar. Is this worth anything? Should I mount it etc....

They're fine to use, but I don't think they're likely to be worth much.

It should have more value than a caliper which isn't stamped with the word "PROTO TYPE" ... but, how much more may not be significant, or it could be a lot.
It probably depends on the provenance that you can provide to the potential buyer.
