need a little help on this one. i have a shimano hg 50 7 speed 14 - 34 cassette that i need to replace. i'm having trouble finding that cassette but i have run across hg 40 7 speeds in the same combination. are these two compatible so i can put an hg 40 on my hub? thanks

There are better ranges (faster) available in a 7 speed cassette, 11-28 for example.

Shimano 7 speed Spin-on HG 30, 40, 50 are interchangable. I swap 30s and 50s around on the same bike.
