I have a 21-speed Dyno with mountain bike style tires (~2"😉.
In order to remove the rear wheel, I released the cable from the rear left brake shoe. There was a plastic spacer/tensioner that broke when I rotated the shoe arm out. This plastic piece fits over the spring.
Is this part commonly sold? Can I buy one at most bike shops? It seems that to replace it, I have to remove the pin with an Allen wrench.
For now, I'm getting along after reinserting half of the spacer, then rotating the brake shoe arm back into position.

Once I googled this part number I found a post saying that Shimano issued a recall notice for it, due to the exact problem that I'm having.

Oh, I get it! The grey plastic spring cover on that model is not decorative, it holds one end of the spring. Stop at any competent LBS where they will have a Shimano-supplied kit for those with three springs and three covers to rebuild any and all cantilevers of that series (with parts left over).
