Shimano compact crank compatibility

The crankset will work fine with a 9sp chain. When I looked at the
part during Interbike, the shift assist is a square block and ramp.
That block's edge may favor a flat link instead of a Shimano 9 link
that has a buldge. A connex 9 or KMC chain will do fine.

Also, a 9 sp system will work fine with a 10 sp chain.

Just put it on, lower your front der and go ride. It is completely
compatible with 9s shimano systems. NO nedd to upgrade anything....Not
surprising that shimano says it is onlt compatible with 10s
stuff...they want you to upgrade!!! Unfortunately, many MO places will
spew this crappola also.
