I was trying to add a new middle chainring to a Shimano Deore (standard = Deore, not LX), but the
chainring does not fit. The diameter is too = small. The holes match up, but it won't fit the middle
mounts way it's = machined. I tried removing the outter chainring and mounting it on the = middle,
but it won't fit either. The new one I bought for the middle, = mounts just find on the outer
chainring location. It looks like it was = intentionally machined to not use standard chainrings.

Is there something special about the Deore Hollowtech cranks that = require special middle
chainring? The bike is a 2002 Cannondale MT-800.

Thanks, Kevin ------=_NextPart_000_0008_01C30E96.9CD25860 Content-Type: text/html;
