I was given a 90's Trek bike, somewhat disassembled. I can't figure out how to hook up the cable to the front derraileur. It's a Shimano Deore DX, triple. The cable just seems to come in from the top, but there's nothing to attach it to, , it needs to pull in a downward direction. Can anyone help? THANKS!

Mountain front derailleurs come in 'bottom pull' and 'top pull'. Sounds like ya got a bottom pull.

Go see a bike shop, bring the bike, they should have a proper FD.
