Shimano Flightdeck Problems?

I had one and though it sucked. Get the new Mavic one..it's the shizzle...

AFAIK, they started this "feature" to conserve battery power, because people
complained their batteries needed replacing every few months. Mine is one of
the original "battery-hogging" ones, and it doesn't bother me.

Probably battery life again! If you need backlighting, you probably need lights
to ride by -- rig one up to shine on your computer a little.
