It's sick ass... for a student that is, who can't afford XT or XTR.
Take a look at the Giant XTC LE 2 specs. and then look at the price.

I have mostly LX components on my Mountain Bike and have loved them. The LX set has performed flawlessly for me over the past few years. Smooth and sure.
