It'll be much cheaper to buy the groupset in the US.

A newer LX groupo should cost significantly less than a newer XT. If you're not obsessed about weight, the LX should be a good deal. I ride XT from a few years ago and friends' newer LX components are just as good. Sorry to hear about the cost of bike components in Australia. You need a few Wal-Marts...just kidding...🙂
