During our last ride, my wife complained that her left pedal release was too hard to snap out of.
I tried her bike and agreed.
I adjusted the release so it was easier.

She said over the next 15 miles it tightened up again.

I lubed it and it seemed okay.

Anything else to do?

Thanks,
Glenn

I must admit that if you adjusted the tension on the quick release correctly I cannot fathom how it would be tightening up again. The only other things that I could think of that might be causing problems are your wife's cleats. Did you check that they are tight on her shoes? How worn are they? Will be interested to see what you learn. Regards Andrew

Thanks for the reply, Andrew.

Yesterday we rode for three hours and her pedals released fine multiple times.
I guess the lube did it.

I will check her cleats, nevertheless.

Your reaction was the same as mine. How could they tighten up 'automatically'

Glenn

Brush the cleats off with a stiff brush and carefully deburr any areas of deformation caused by walking on them.

Ah yes, forget to suggest a drop of lube. I regularly lube mine. Hopefully all sorted now. Andrew
