Shimano vs. Campag

Campag.

Those that know know that they know. Those who don't know don't know that they don't know. I have ridden both - campag is the sh*T.

Get campag and you wll never look back, Get shimano and you will always wonder about what might have been.

Campy is better - period.

Campy is better - period.

Certainly not true for cranksets, where the evil soulless corporation is clearly in the lead - the rest is open to (enormous quantities of) debate.

Campy Record Brakes suck, and they aren't any better than the new Shimano 105 to me. Shimano hubs are better because they are more frictionless (I have R540 wheels and Campy Eurus to compare). I don't like the way Campy shifts with thumb lever.

If Campy record brakes "Suck", how do the pros descend with them at 55+mph? What do think they should ride at this speed?
