hello,

I have read the archive and know that campagnolo record 10 shifters
works good with shimano 9 or 10 cassette using campagnolo rear derailleur.

the question is about derailleur: should I expect problems or everything
will be working fine when using this a bit older campy model with the
components mentioned above?

Looks like a 1993-4 Athena. It's not the geometry of it, but it may not
have the travel to go all the way to the biggest cog. May need to shave
some metal away where it contacts itself on the biggest cogs.

Geos: your pic is of an early 90's indexing Campy indexing derailleur. My
guess is Veloce or Athena. It has a mechanical advantage of 1.43:1. That
is, for every 1mm of cable pull, the derailleur travels 1.43mm across the
cassette. In 2001, Campy changed (for god knows what reason) to a 1.50 to 1
ratio.

Campy 10 speed shifters pull 2.75mm of cable per index position. So if you
use this derailleur with 10-speed Ergo shifters, it will travel 3.93mm per
index position. Shimano 10-speed uses a cog spacing of 3.95mm center to
center. Perfect match.

So this derailleur will work better than a new Campagnolo derailleur in
shifting Shimano 10-speed. Treasure it and keep it in good working order.
