My Michelin tires (and tubes) are stamped "Made in France".

While true of Nike RUNNING shoes, its cycling shoes (and jerseys, too, for
that matter) are often quite reasonably priced.

Personal experience. I used to used open pro's all the time. When their
manufacture switched the tyres I got just we not as well made or as
durable. This may have been just the first few batches from the new
factory while they got things sorted out but they lost me. Of course
YMMV and you opinion is just as valid as nmine.

How true. I'm pretty sure China is the largest producer of shoes in
the world. Everything from $1 disposable slippers all the way up
to shoes costing hundreds of dollars. Quality can be excellent, or
quite lacking. Many companies now source their shoes from China
because their costs go way down and they get to keep the savings as
a, huge in some instances, profit.

The beginning of the 21st century belongs to China. All economic eyes and
ears are on China.

Not unusual, of the dozens of ski boots I have owned I have never noted
a difference in quality between two of a pair.
