Six national titles - four elite's and a pair of U23's - were awarded on Wednesday on opening day of the 2007 USA Cycling Elite Track National Championships at the ADT Event Center Velodrome in suburban Los Angeles. Michael Blatchford captured a stars-and-stripes jersey in the men's 250-meter time trial, while Liz Reap won the women's 500-meter time trial and met the 2008 Talent Pool time standard. Also among the elite champions on Wednesday were Stephen Hill in the men's kilometer time trial and the Slipstream team pursuit squad.
