that I can take into the hills and not be paranoid about taking it out
in the rain.
I'm not a hot-shot photographer so I don't need anything fancy. At the
minute I have a 3 year old Nikon Coolpix (similar to the url below) so
something along those lines with waterproofing would be perfect.
I have an Olymppus Mju 725 SW (now replaced by the 770 SW?) which is
completely waterproof (I've taken underwater video with it) so it should
manage the rain, and they say it's shockproof foor being dropped 1.5 m
(haven't tested that, don't intend to!). It's also very small and light
so hangs off a shoulder harness D-ring without getting in the way.
Not the cheapest around, you do pay for that waterproofing. Only other
downside is there's no viewfinder, you have to work off the screen which
can be a bit of a fiddle in bright sun.
Been very pleased with mine, in my position as a fellow "not hot-shot
photographer".
Pete.
