Stop being so cynical.

My niece got done for drink driving in the ACT a while ago and was told
she'd "Lost(tm)" her licence for three months but after doing the charm
thing was allowed to drive to work and back.

To get to work by PT she only has to cross the footpath to get to a bus
stop on a route that takes her to a bus stop RIGHT OUTSIDE her office.
Getting home involves a longer walk - she has to cross the road. ie.
She doesn't need a car to get to work and back anyway.

I thought losing your licence was supposed to inconvenience you to the
point where you wouldn't offend again because of the inconvenience. Oh
well - wrong again...:-(

Oh, she also reckons that "...bikes are OK as long as they stay out of
the way..." and that "...texting is OK, you don't need to watch the
road all the time..." and that "....what's wrong with talking on the
'phone and driving, I can talk to passengers. What's the difference..."
As a cyclist I find her attitude bloody alarming and unfortunately
common.
