Howdy,

Any recommendations for a multi hour / 40+ ride in the OC area with a limited number of traffic lights & stops signs? I'm looking for something that is moderate pain.

I found this path which looks long, but....

Thoughts.

Thanks, Ron

Have you tried the Backbay in Newport Beach? If not, let me know and I can post some details for you.....

I ended up taking the Santa Ana River Trail from Katella and made my way to Newport Beach then down with San Clemente. Two days later I went the other way up to Yorba Linda then back down to Newport Beach. Both fun rides. The biggest pain is fighting all the lights and traffic to/from the trail.
Thanks, Ron

That's quite a ride Ron....did you take the PCH to San Clemente? It's pretty bad through Laguna Beach huh?? (If you took that route)...

I think they've just opened another Trail between Yorba and NB..but I looks like one would need a Mountain Bike to complete some of the stretches? I need to ride up and see what the scoop is....

I'm looking for a road ride this weekend, about 50-60 miles, in the lakewood area. Any ideas?

Yes, Laguna and Dana Point were dicey and left little room for mistakes, but cars gave me room!

The PCH ride was 85 miles. The last five or so were rough since it was 90 degrees. The SA River Trail was 60 miles. The wind was a little rough heading to the beach, but very fast on the way back!

I used this link below for helping me plan my route.
