It seems to me that the tour has become tarnished to the point that even the riders who make the podium don't seem to think it means as much as it once did.
It seems like the Disco team, more or less, believes that Ras was the winner.
Almost every article I've read since the tour ended is headlined with the words "doping marred", "tarnished" and other terms that detract from the overall results of the race.
I'm thinking that we've pretty much reached the point where the tour is no longer the pinnacle of pro cycling. Even if you win the Tour De France, it's almost like it's such a drama spectacle that no one cares much who wins. Everyone suspects that anyone who makes the podium, are simply the ones who didn't get caught.
I'm wondering what will replace the tour as the most highly regarded race? How will we know who is currently considered the best cyclist in the world?
