The other evening, while removing my front wheel to fix a puncture, I
managed to snap one of the cables that connects to the Schmidt SON
dynamo. It's snapped just above the spade connection, there's some
slack in the cable so it should be simple enough to attach a new gubbins
to the cable and plug it all back in. But I don't know what gubbins I
need to buy, I only know what it looks like.
Can somebody tell me what an electronics supplier would call the part
that I need, what size I want (or how to measure it) and whether I will
need a special tool to fit it? I had a look at the rather brief dynamo
manual that came with the bike, but it's all in German.
If it helps (if perhaps the design has changed over the years), the
dynamo would probably have been manufactured in 2000 (I took delivery of
the bike, with dynamo fitted, in January 2001).
TIA.
