Does anyone know how many clicks the left brifter on the Sora 7spd shifter set has. My 105 has 4 clicks, and works just fine on my triple, but this Sora only has 3 and will not go to all 3 chainrings. I can get it to work just fine on small /middle or middle/big but not all 3. This is a brand new set of Sora triple brifters, and I am using a Sora 9 spd FD with 7spd cranks.

Your problem is most-likely 9-speed front derailleur, which has a narrower cage than the 7-speed. That, combined with no trim function on the 7-speed STI lever, will definitely give you some grief.

Thanks for the input. Would an 8spd work, or do I need to find a 7 spd?

I don't honestly know if there's much difference between the 7 & 8-speed front derailleurs. The chain doesn't get narrower until you get to the 9-speed, and that might also be where the ability to "trim" the derailleur comes in as well.
There are also issues if you're using chainring configurations (sizes) that aren't what the derailleur is expecting. For example, the inner plate on a derailleur made for a 39t middle chainring is shaped differently than one made for a 42tooth.
