Source of 500A rim

500A was once a popular size for recumbents like the Radius Peer Gynt.
Never seen a steel rim though, most were 32H alloys. If you can't find
something closer to home I should have some 28H Weinmann's somewhere

No, but a 451 rim will fit, or at least might fit, depending on details
of tyre, mudguard, and brakes - I tried a 451 wheel from a Raleigh Twenty
in my Kingpin (because the Raleigh wheel had a dynohub), and it worked for
me. Hub seemed to have more drag (mechanical, not from the dynamo, I think),
and the light was weak, so I went back to the original.
(500A is ISO/ERTRO 440, in between the two 20" sizes of 406 and 451.)
