Southern Grimpeur Series

Le Brevet des Grimpeurs du Sud is a new award that will be launched for
the AUK 2007 calendar. The idea came about from speaking to some of the
other organisers of hilly AUK rides around London; whilst some rides
are oversubscribed some of the newer ones are less well known, so by
introducing the series we hope to encourage riders to take in the
varied and wonderful Scenery of the South East. To gain the award a
rider will need to complete 5 rides of 100km or more which are eligible
for AAA points within the counties of Greater London, Essex, Herts,
Bucks, Surrey, East and West Sussex and Kent. In 2006 there were over a
dozen eligible rides. Further details to follow with the first event of
the new AUK year which is likely to be the January Winter Corker.
