I' just started to ride bike and I have a Shimano Look set up. but it doesnt feel tight/secure and im wondering if SPD set up would have a tighter fit bettween the cleats and pedal. I havn't tried an spd set up so im wondering which is better. I ride like 40miles trips sometimes, if that helps determine weather or not I should swicth to spd.

Try tightening the springs on the pedals. This will hold the cleat tighter.
I don't think spd is easy to get into. I use Speedplay.

The Look system is proven by years of use. There is nothing wrong with it, exept the cleats wear fast and sometimes squeek.
I use and love the Look system. I use speedplay on the mtb bike, but used to use spd system there. Look is much more secure than spd will be, you feel the difference. You are not going to accidentally pop out of your Look system.
