SPD-R Compatible Pedals

I have Shimano SPD R540 pedals on my roadbike and I'd like to put some clipless pedals on my MTB so I can use the same shoes. However, I don't want to fork out for a brand new set of Shimano pedals if I can avoid it. So I was wondering whether there are budget pedals from other manufacturers that would be compatible with my SPDR cleats? I think the Ritchey Pro V3 road pedals are...any others?

Or does anyone have any second hand Shimano SPDR pedals lying around?

I think that Wellgo does make some cheapo SPD-R style pedals (R-2)

BUT:
The Shimano PD-R540 pedals are SPD-SL style; not SPD-R ;)

(FWIW, I believe the old PD-R535 were SPD-R's and the PD-M540's are SPD)

Right you are, they are SPD-SL. I get a bit mixed up with all the ranges available.
