Specialized apologises over sexist ‘playboy’ e-bike

...Colnago found itself having to apologise after posting a photo on Twitter of a woman leaned over a bike with the caption “ready for the weekend ride?”

I'm CampyBob and I approve the content of this sexist message.

Outright sexism should never be encouraged or condoned. But I think this is a case of caving in to a overly politically correct environment. The specialist motor car and tuning industries tend to market their products with in a far more racier and sexist manner, and they never get into hot water.

I cannot understand how this requires an apology. The PC people are obviously taking it too far and once again I was wrong when I thought that South Park was going to far in the last season. So, okay, it is mildly sexist but It is just a word play and it is fun and even intelligent to some point. We need that kind of humour and I'm afraid that PC people will ruin everything.

I like naked women. I am too old and reckless to not be myself at this point. Society can just deal with it.

Ok, I'm a woman, and I looked at the photos. Those girls were not any more provocatively dressed than any other spokesmodel. In fact, they were a lot less exposed than the majority of spokesmodels. If Specialised needs to apologise for this, then everyone else needs to as well, particularly Victorias Secret! Just not gonna happen. In the meantime, all of this hand wringing just makes it harder for those girls Who have done nothing wrong.

That's pretty much a natural tendency for any well-adjusted and heterosexual male. It's the prevalence of a new breed of sissified social justice warriors and their ilk that seem to be take offense at the exposure of any female flesh. They claim to be progressive but aren't anything of the sort. I think they would be comfortable living in a middle eastern country with these attitudes.

I'm.also of the opinion that it's political correctness gone crazy again and there's nothing wrong with the picture in my eyes.

I think you'd have to be the biggest, liberal lefty, bra burning feminist on the planet to be offended by it aswell, so an apology is definitely not needed either.

Let me qualify my original post by stating that there are some people in general that should always wear clothes.

If I had a business and put out a product with some kind of sexual flavor, I don't think I would apologize to anyone. Heck I have lots of pic of women at the beach on my blog because that is where we ride. My wife allows it because she has seen my view stats of the non bikini vs bikini bike postings. Many of the chicks I put on there are far from my taste but I know the male population enjoys this mold.

I've taken a lot of heat on other forums for it but hey, the idea was all brought up by forum members and requests. I once accidentally captured a chick in a bikini in the background of a shot of a cyclist. Forum members started sending plenty of requests to add more pics of chicks. I showed it to my wife and she said she had no problem with it. IF I made a video without chick and all cyclists I might get 50-100 views. If I made a video with chicks in the background, 400-2000 views. One of my videos has over 5400 views.

Heck, I have had 3 or 4 complaints about it. Usually a fat ugly female poster or a some kind of **** who doesn't appreciate the female body. A forum once asked me to refrain from posting such material in the forums so I did but started my blog. Over the period of 5 years, I still get guys coming up to me on bike rides saying, "more girly pics please!". My wife just laughs about it knowing it's entertainment.

So if anyone asks me to stop posting chicks on my blog, I'd tell them to go F themselves. And for all those big fat ugly female posters, you really shouldn't ask me to stop because the men that are the biggest fans of my blog are probably your husbands! :D

So if I were someone like Colnago or Specialized, I wouldn't apologize cause the bikes are going to sell anyway.

The Overly politically correct environment always trying to achieve the implausible task of not offend anybody. For me this is downright ridiculous.

If those are the official images I don't see how they are offensive. The bike is marketed at men I don't see how it down plays female cyclists.

I'm scratching my head wondering how they thought partnering up with Playboy was ever going to have a happy ending.

AHAHAHAHA lmao for real, I was actually thinking about that when I frist read the post's tittle, they should not apologize about something like that, it is just some advertisement, that is my opinion though.

Crazy how the current day world is about sexism on the mild thankfully though. Not sure why there were partnering up with Playboy, but you just saw what happened lol!
