Specialized Rockhopper Comp

Awesome. I've had mine for 3+ years and beat the holy hell out of it. It's
an awesome all-around bike, and hasn't given me any mechanical trouble
whatsoever. As for performance, I just took it to Downieville last weekend,
where I felt somewhat out of place without a 5" duallie, and had a great
time. With the exception of two pinch flats in the first two miles (which
were my fault for not properly inflating) it did a superb job.

As for size, the RH was my first mountain bike. I came from BMX and am ~6',
so I'm used to a smaller frame that I can throw around. I picked up a 17"
and am only now starting to realize that I need a *slightly* bigger bike for
full leg extension and more comfortable long distance riding. I'll probably
still buy a medium when I get my Stumpie.

That would more easily solved by buying the correct size bike. As
hardtails go they are pretty good, I wouldn't spend the money on a
Stumpjumper hard tail these days.
