Hey all…

I have been offered a 2004 Roubaix Comp for $3 200AU (about $2 400US) this includes shoes and pedals.

I would like to know how the 04 and 06 models compare.. I realised the 04 model is full Ultegra 18 speed (except crank) and the 06 is mainly 105 10 speed with Ultegra rear derailer...I'm new to road bikes so I don't really know what else to look for when comparing.

Not sure how much I can get a new Comp 06 for, but I assume it won’t be much off the price of the 2004 model.

cheers

The specs for the 2004 Roubaix Comp are listed here: http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?arc=2004&spid=6781&bikeTab=techspec

The specs for the 2006 Roubaix Comp (double) are listed here: http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=13025&bikeTab=techspec

There is also a 2006 Roubaix Comp with a triple chainring. That option did not appear to be available on the 2004. The other major difference is that the 2004 is 9 speed Ultegra, while the 2006 is 10 speed 105. While within the same model year, Ultegra is better than 105. What I do not know is how the 2004 Ultegra compares to the 2006 105.
