Just in case anyone is interested...
Dr Claire Davis from the University of Birmingham is giving the British
Association for the Advancement of Science award lecture at the UEA in
Norwich on Monday 4th September 13.00 - 14.00
The publicity bit says:-
"How can cyclists go faster, pole vaulters go higher or golfers hit the ball
further? The answers include being fitter and stronger but also in using the
most appropriate sports equipment. The influence of equipment design and the
materials used have long been claimed to have a dramatic effect on sporting
performance. In this talk Dr Claire will investigate the influence of design
and materials on various aspects of sporting performance, including
perceptions, safety and marketing."
