  1. I am the only recumbent rider that participated on the time trials, riding a V2 that weighed 38
pounds I weigh 218,and am 69 years old. Here are some of the times and age groups: 5K 55-59 1,7:14,
    2. 8:37. 60-64 1. 7:27, 2. 8:07, 3. 8:12. 65-69 l. 8:31, 2. 8:58, 3. 9:28(me) I feel that the
    lightweight upright bikes are much faster. 10K times 50-54 l.16:26, 2, 18:10, 3, 18:29. 55-59 1.
    14:28, 2 17: 19, 3. 18:16. 60-64 1. 14:46; 2. 15:24, 3. 15:28. 65-69 1. 16:.42, 2. 17:41 3.
18:31 (me) There were riders clear up to age 85. His time in the 10K was 22:46. If anybody wants to
see exactly how fast they truly are, this is a true test. Go time trial, Bob Milligan V2

Great job getting out there and participating!

I think that what was proven was that the riders of the uprights were faster than you were that day.
The only standard by which one can really say "this bike is faster" is for a given rider on a given
course. Generalities about 'bents vs uprights are generally meaningless, as there always seem to be
counter-examples. I know that I am significantly faster on my 'bent (which is not considered
particularly fast by 'bent standards) than I have been on an upright since I was a teenager.
